Because the shaft can be cut to any length, mills can be made in almost any shape or size. The short, shaftless version can be mounted facing up or down, so the mill releases spice only from the top — no mess on the table.
Neither version needs mounting screws; both fit easily into wooden casings. The ceramic grinding wheels never rust, and they’re durable, practical and versatile.
